I often say that every pharmacist is a public health pharmacist. Because we really truly are the ones that are here for the health of the many, not just the health of the one.^1,2

And so, one of the things that pharmacy and pharmacists do very well is preventative care.³

We’re seeing 70% to 80% of the population being vaccinated at a pharmacy or by a pharmacist.⁵ It’s a huge expansion in our scope of practice and our ability to really facilitate the need for better preventative care at an access point that is more accessible to the average American.^3-6

For most patients, it’s an average about 20 touchpoints a year.²

And so, if we’re the ones advocating for them to get the vaccine, it reemphasizes that preventative care messaging that they’re already getting from their healthcare professionals.⁴ It may only take that one more mention to reinforce positive decision-making around why vaccines are so important and also staying on message.⁷
